(C)When you feel like (G)laying (Em)low

And the (Am)mountains seem no (Em)closer than be(F)fore

And you wonder (G)why

You (C)know in your mind it does (G)no good to (Em)hide

And the (Am)only way is (Em)living to sur(F)vive

It makes you feel a(G)live

(C)See all the (G)doors swing open

Your (Am)lifes unfolding be(G)fore your very (F)eyes

Such a strange a(G)ffair

(C)Walk in a(G)round come into the (Am)sound

Forget your (G)down feel the (F)air

Beautiful a(G)ffair

There (C)comes a time when you (G)look a(Em)round

And you (Am)see the ocean (Em)rise before your (F)eyes

Showing no surp(G)rise

So you (C)make you way down (G)to the (Em)shore

And you (Am)climb aboard and (Em)give your self a (F)smile

It makes you feel a(G)live

(C)Then all the (G)doors swing open

Your (Am)lifes unfolding be(G)fore your very (F)eyes

Such a strange a(G)ffair

(C)Walk in a(G)round come into the (Am)sound

Forget your (G)down feel the (F)air

Beautiful a(G)ffair

(C)See all the (G)doors swing open

Your (Am)lifes unfolding be(G)fore your very (F)eyes

Such a strange a(G)ffair

(C)Walk in a(G)round come into the (Am)sound

Forget your (G)down feel the (F)air

Beautifful a(G)ffair

Irish folk song lyrics guitar chords

Stockton's Wing are now one of Ireland's longest running traditional folk groups. They formed in 1977 in the County of Clare on the west coast of Ireland. Two of the original members were Tony Callinan who was the singer and guitar player and Paul Roche who played the flute and tin whistles, Maurice Lennon played the fiddle and also sang, Tommy Hayes plays the bodhran and Kieran Hanrahan on four string banjo. The group released their first album in 1978 ''Stockton's Wing'' which consisted of very fast instrumental trad tunes and a few ballads thrown in.

Just before their second album ''Take A Chance'' in 1980 Mike Hannaran replaced Tony Callinan as the lead singer. Steve Cooney joined the band in 1982 playing bass. Their big hit single Beautiful Affair was written by Mike Hanrahan. Tommy Hayes left the group in '83 at which time the band were singing more contempory songs, soon after the group got a drummer , Fran Breen and a keyboard player named Peter Keenan. Between the years of 1984 and '88 the group put out 4 albums and several singles and toured the world. They continue to preform today.
