Flow Liffey Waters The Wolfe Tones Son Lyrics, a song about falling in love in Dublin. The place names mentioned in the song are -Ballymun which is a working class area with high unemployment and blocks of flats, the area is currently being rejuvenated and a new town is in place, Ballyfermot on the south west of Dublin which also has high unemployment and thousands of high density houses with little amenities, Bluebell, another working class area close to the main road to the South of Ireland, Finglas, is on the north side of Dublin, again another high density area for houses with not too many job opportunities, Blackrock is on the South side and is quiet an affluent area, a lot of big money people living here.

O'h I've seen her face and I touched a dream
And made love down by the Liffey
I was lost in the arms in the midst's of love
In the bosom of this city
Then she said that she was leaving
To cross the Irish sea
O'h please stay with me in Dublin Town
For it's part of you and me.

[Chorus]Flow Liffey waters, flow gently to the sea
Flow Liffey waters flow, and sing and dance for me
They say the grass is greener on the far side of the hill
Sure we belong to Dublin Town, sure it's part of you and me.

Now she'll have my child and our love is strong
And we'll face this world together,
And we'll walk the streets through the liberties
In the wind and stormy weather
For there's gold in every rainbow
If only we could see
That we are part of Dublin Town
Sure it's part of you and me.

Flow Liffey waters, flow gently to the sea
Flow Liffey waters flow, and sing and dance for me
They say the grass is greener on the far side of the hill
Sure we belong to Dublin Town, sure it's part of you and me.

So here's to Finglas and Bluebell, and the girls of Ballyfermot
From Blackrock out to Ballymun, and the boy's in Sean McDermots
For a city is it's people, so stay and stand by me
And we'll share our lives in this auld town, sure it's part of you and me.

Flow Liffey waters, flow gently to the sea
Flow Liffey waters flow, and sing and dance for me
They say the grass is greener on the far side of the hill
Sure we belong to Dublin Town, sure it's part of you and me.
