Prosperous day song lyrics by  Carl Cameron This is a song I wrote a few years back , it is a song about how the world revolves around the all mighty dollar followed by political votes how the environment suffers at the greed and needs of so many and yet the governments of most countries stand by and do nothing.

Song Contest Winner

It's a narrow minded person , that gets off , on other people's grief
and the ones with all the money , it seems they can't be beat
they do just what they want to , when there's no one else around
and the rules they don't apply now , to the ones , who put the money down

                                                            ch

I got to shake my head and wonder , what it really means to me
they're all pointing fingers , and no one can agree
and when somethings in the road they simply sweep it all away
and look at it as a prosperous day

just take a look around you , there ain't much left around here
they took out all the good , what's left is over there
the seas are all but empty , 10% that's all that remains
and we know who let em do it , and you know it's a goddam shame

I got to shake myself and wonder , what it really means to me
they're all pointing fingers and no one can agree
and when somethings in the road they simply sweep it all away
and they look at it as a prosperous day

who they gonna blame now , when there's nothing left to see
when they're all done passing papers , will it be you , or maybe me
I just don't understand it , why the people they don't care
what was once the land of plenty , is just money thrown into the air

I got to shake my head and wonder , who's standing up for me
they're all pointing fingers , and no one can agree
and if somethings in the road they simply sweep it all away
and they look at it as a prosperous day
it's just another prosperous day

There is another way to sing the second verse , it can be sung
just take a look around you , there ain't much left around here
they took out all the good , what's left is over there
the trees are all but gone now , stumps and bushes , that's all that remains
we know who let them do it , and you know it's a goddam shame
