Bin Lorry

Panda Breaks It's Promise

The waste collecting company Panda has increased it's prices for bin collection in the Swords area. The company had stated when it took over the service from Fingal County Council at the start of the year that it would not put the price of it's service up. Panda sent letters to every house in Fingal clearly stating that the cost of lifting bins would not increse by at least a year. The reason Panda are giving is that the cost of disposing of the rubbish in landfill dumps has gone up in price. Panda already knew the price of landfill was going to increase because it was told so by the council before it took over the bin collection. Panda has clearly broken it's promise to the residents of Swords. The price of the bin tag is now €8.75 which is an increase of €0.75c.
Tip To Beat The Price Rise.
The average family in Ireland only recycles half of what other countries do. The black bin which is the one that costs the money should only be put out for collection once a month. Most of what people dispose of in the black bin could be thrown in the browne bin. Example = all food, all paper , cardboard, tea bags, grass, leaves, hedge cuttings. There's no point throwing all your paper in the green bin as Panda makes hugh profits from recycling paper. If Panda has the neck to break their promise to residents in Fingal then why should the residents contribute to Pandas hugh profits. Think before you throw stuff in the black bin.
