Another Big Winner From Co. Kilkenny Wins €571,697 On Lotto

CO. KILIKENNY MAN WILL “MAKE EVERY DAY A GOOD DAY” AFTER WINNING €571,697

Champagne flowed at National Lottery offices, as two lucky Kilkenny men took home their EuroMillions prizes which combined are worth over €1 million.

First in was lucky 48 year old Martin Marinel (pictured left) from Urlingford in Co. Kilkenny who won €500,000 in Tuesday’s EuroMillions Plus draw. Martin celebrated his win with his wife Violet, brother-in-law Florin Podar and ticket selling agent Margaret Tynan from Urlingford Post Office.

“We’re on top of the world,” said Martin who is a regular EuroMillions player. “We can’t believe our luck. Up ‘til now, the most we’ve won is €26.”

The father of two picked his own numbers based on his family’s birthdays and ages. He currently has no plans for his win however he and his wife are looking forward to thinking about how to spend the wind fall.

Also, a lucky retired man from Co. Kilkenny delightedly said that he will “make every day a good day” as he collected a cheque for €571,697 at National Lottery offices. He won the fantastic prize when he played last Friday’s EuroMillions draw and matched five numbers and one Lucky Star - just one number away from the €15 million jackpot.

Today’s winner, who wishes to remain private, bought his ticket on the day of the draw, Friday 29 March 2013 in Kinsella’s shop in the High Street of Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny.  “They are the same numbers that I’ve played for years. They don’t mean anything special – they’re just numbers I’ve always picked,” he smiled.

Speaking of how he will spend the winnings, he said, “I’m going to get myself a little house and a new car. I’ll give my current car, which is quite new, to my brother, and I’ll give some money to my sister as well.  I’ll probably invest the rest, I’ll see what happens.”
