The Star Pub is located on Main Street Swords with side entrance to the lounge on the Chapel Lane. The Star is one of the oldest pubs in Swords and is owned by the Taylor family. The pub is famous for it's food and more importantly the price of the grub, it's one of the largest pubs in Swords. The bar is to the front of the premises, the pool lounge is upstairs at the front and is frequented mostly by young people. There are 6 pool tables in the pool lounge with further tables of a larger size to the rear of the lounge. The downstairs lounge is where the food is served all day and into the evening. There used to be a Russian Club at the back of the pub but has since closed down and is back to what it was beforehand playing music to cater for the young people at weekends.  Celtic Fusion also play a regular gig in the bar on Tuesday nights starting around 9-30, Celtic Fusion play a mixture of folk and pop songs. There's now a dart board upstairs in the pool lounge.Traditional music session on Sundays, starts around 7pm until 9pm, the group are Room For One More.

Car parking. There's parking on the Chapel Lane beside the pub. There's also a large parking behind the pub with the charges €1 per hour, or €5 per day. There's clamping in operation in the car park behind the pub. If you don't display the disc parking ticket there's a good chance you'll be clamped.

End-of-terrace five-bay two-storey ashlar granite former bank, c.1910, with pilasters to ground floor and pair of single-bay single-storey bowed oriel windows. In use as public house. There is no more free parking in the car park behind the Star pub on the Chapel Lane. The council have resurfaced the parking area and marked out where you can park. They have also made this area Pay And Display. When you buy your ticket from the machine it must be clearly displayed on the dashboard of the car. If you don't buy a ticket then you stand a good chance of getting your vehicle clamped. The release fee is €100 . The clamping company are Euro Car Parks.
