THE PROCLAMATION OF INDEPENDENCE SONG. Written by Padraig Grimes.
Padraig wrote this song based on the 1916 proclamation of Independence and the state of our country today, I tried to use as much of Padraic Pearse`s fine writing in it as I could, so in a way he co-wrote it with me.

[Am]rish men and [G]Irish wom[Am]en, in the name of [G]God and of the [Am]dead
From which she re[G]ceives her old tra[Am]ditions
Now summons her [G]children to her flag

Chorus

[C]Now we [G]strike for her [F]freed[G]om

[C]As generations have [G]done be[F]fore[G]

[F]Now we`re taking back our co[C]untry once a[Am]gain

A sovereign na[G]tion ever[Am] more

We declare the right of the people, religious and civil liberty
And for all our children, opportunity
In this new Ireland of the free

Chorus
And to all our leaders who betrayed us
An act of treason is your crime
The proclamation of independence
Of 1916`s on my mind

Chorus
(Same chords as chorus)
Now we strike for our freedom
And we tell the euro to go to hell
And to all our leaders
you`ve had your chance and it`s gone
tell France and Germany as well
Chorus
