Sad Song For Susan Irish lyrics and chords Written By Brendan McFarlane / Bobby Sands.
This song was written while Brendan and Bobby were interned
in Long Kesk concentration camp,Bobby also wrote  ''The Voyage'' which later became known as ''Back Home In Derry'' set to the tune of ''The Wreck Of The Edmond Fitzgerald''.

I'm [G] sitting at the [C] window, I'm [D] looking down the [G] street

I am [Em] watching for [Am] your face, I'm [C] listening for your [D] feet.

Out[G]side the wind is [C] blowing and it's [D] just begun to [G]rain,

And it's [Em] being here [Am] without you that's [C] causing me such [D] pain.

My mind's wandering back again, to when you were here

And I wish I had you now, I wish that you were near.

I remember the winter nights when you warned me from the cold

And in the spring when we walked through green fields and skies of gold.

[chorus]

You're [C] gone, you're [D] gone, [G] but you'll live [Em] on [C] in my [D] memor[G]y.

You're [C] gone, you're [D] gone, [G] but you'll live [Em] on [C] in my [D] memor[G]y.

In summer we played with the kids and you brought us young Jane,

But now - now it's lonely and cold and it's winter once again.

It's dark now, I see, the stars are out way up in the sky,

And oh! how they remind me of the sparkle in your eye.

I'm lonely, yes, I'm lonelier than the cold wind that blows,

Are you happy, are you all right? I suppose God only knows.

And darling all the people are going to bed and the kids are crying for you

- How can I tell them you're dead?
