Song For Marcella Lyrics And Chords. Words and music by Brendan Bik McFarlane. 4/4 Original version by Bik McFarlane with capo on the 1st fret. This is a tribute to Bobby Sands M.P. who died 5th May 1981 while on hunger strike. The writer of this song was the Officer Commanding in the H-Blocks while Bobby Sands was on hunger strike.

(D)Doesn´t (A)seem quite (Bm)so long a(G)go,
The last time that I (A)saw you,
(D)Ain´t it (A)funny how the (Bm)memories (G)grow,
Seems they always fold a(A)round you,
They (D)tried to (A)break you in a (Bm)living (G)hell,
But they couldn´t (A)find a way,
(D)So they (A)killed you in a (Bm)H-Block (G)cell,
And hoped that all would (A)turn away,
(D)Thought that your (A)spirit wouldn´t (Bm)rise a(G)gain
But you dared to prove them (A)wrong,
(D)And in (A)death you tore a(Bm)way the (G)chains,
And let the world hear Freedom´s (A)Song

Chorus
Yet the (G)heartache and (A)pain linger (D)on,
They´re still (G)here though its so long since you’ve (A)gone,
But we´re (D)stronger (Bm)now you (F#m)showed us (G)how,
(Em)Freedom’s (A)fight can be (D)won(A)

(D)I wish there (A)was an easy (Bm)road to (G)chose,
To bring the heartache to an (A)end,
(D)But easy (A)roads are always (Bm)sure to (G)lose,
I´ve seen that time and time a(A)gain,
(D)If you can (A)stand by me like (Bm)yester(G)day,
I´ll find the strength to carry (A)on,
(D)So let your (A)spirit shine a(Bm)long the (G)way,
And our day will surely (A)come
Repeat Chorus
(Em)If we (A)all stand as (G)one -A-D
